Zein's Authentic Bellydance classes teach the dance form as it is danced and taught in the Arab world. The emphasis however is on giving you the tools to develop your own style and be your unique self rather than make you dance like Zein, or anyone else.

The class atmosphere is relaxed and fun. You will get the chance to have fun, listen to wonderful music and get in shape all while you learn a truly beautiful form of dance. Benefits of bellydance are numerous and include realignment of the spine and hips. It is also an excellent workout for the entire body.

Zein Al-Jundi was born and raised in Syria, a country where learning Bellydance is a part of the culture. And it is a pleasure and a privilege to extend that knowledge to you. She has been teaching fitness/dance classes in Austin for a total of about 17 years.

All of our classes are taught at Zein's Dance Studio @ 5013 B Duval St (in Central Austin, at the corner of 51St and Duval)

Wear whatever you feel comfortable dancing in. It is recommended that you get a bellydance hipscarf (bellydance belt), of which we have a great assortment. Those are beautifully beaded and imported directly from Egypt with coins and beads and help in accentuating the movements and weighing your hips down so you can see and feel what you are doing better. Class is done either barefoot or you can wear dance shoes (non-marking and thin soles) of which we have a good number as well, which I (Zein) have designed and have them made specifically for our store in Egypt. They are made of genuine leather and come in a variety of sizes and colors.

Class fee is $70 for 6 classes, $120 for 12 classes or $14 per class (class cards expire in 6 & 8 weeks respectively) Expired cards can still be used for make up classes with the purchase of a current class card....

All of our bellydance classes are ongoing so you can join anytime and do however many you would like within your dance level.

January of 2008 marked the Tenth Anniversary for our Authentic Bellydance classes. Hard to believe it has been that long since I started our classes. And we are still going strong with 8 years of fun and great dancing behind us.

Our studio--Zein's Dance Studio is now more than six years old. With the opening of the studio, classes have grown to an unprecedented level (another dream coming true :-). I can't tell you what an absolutely fabulous journey it has been to be teaching the classes and how many incredible people it has allowed me to come in touch with and have in my life.
